The Rental Process
How we find the perfect home for rent in Calgary for you and your family
We begin the process to find your best home choice by determining your needs when you call, email or meet with us in person. We listen to you and ask questions to help us pinpoint the best living space and community for the lifestyle you enjoy. If we do not have properties that suit you, we can, for a minimal daily charge, arrange a tour of more suitable properties.
When you find a home you’re interested in, we will help you complete an “Application to Lease.” This document shows your interest in the property and confirms the details you require to make it work for you. The “Application for Lease” must be accompanied by a security deposit to place the property “on hold” until the security check is complete and the application is approved. The Security Deposit is one month’s rent.
A credit check will be completed and a verification call to your employer and previous landlord may be executed. The cheque will be placed into the RLG “security deposit in trust” account ONLY AFTER your application has been approved. It will be returned at the end of your tenancy as per the Real Estate Act of Alberta. If you choose not to move into the rental unit at the time you have been approved, your security deposit will be forfeited. All brokerage in trust accounts are audited by the industry annually.
Once approved, the RLG One Point of Contact© Property Manager will contact you to set up a time for you to move into your new home and a Welcome Letter will be sent or emailed to you.
